First look at Christopher Robin

After an extensive open casting search, young newcomer Will Tilston, was found to play the part of Christopher Robin, in the feature film biopic of Winnie The Pooh author A.A Milne.

With a working title of Goodbye Christopher Robin, he stars alongside Domhnall Gleeson as his father, the author, Margot Robbie as his mother Daphne, with Kelly Macdonald, Stephen Campbell Moore, Alex Lawther, Richard McCabe, Nico Mirallegro, Geraldine Somerville and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

The film gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne, and his nanny Olive, Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?

"I'm thrilled to finally see this fascinating story be realized with such an array of fresh and exciting talent," said producer Damian Jones, while his co-producer Steve Christian added: "It's such a joy to be able to share the long held passion that I've felt for this story and to see it all come together with a team that I could never have dreamt possible."

Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughn, the film is directed by Simon Curtis, with as yet no release date announced.

Doctor Who spin-off Class set to debut 22nd October

The new BBC young adult Doctor Who spin-off series Class will be available on BBC Three from Saturday 22nd October.

Current Doctor Who Peter Capaldi will join the cast of exciting new talent in the opening episode of the series For Tonight We Might Die, followed by the second episode The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo.

The new series is set in Coal Hill Academy, a school which holds some very dark and deadly secrets in its shadows. As the new term starts, students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack, four alienated students must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them. And this incursion is only the beginning.

Charlie (Greg Austin), April (Sophie Hopkins), Ram (Fady Elsayed) and Tanya (Vivian Oparah), assisted by their physics teacher Miss Quill (Katherine Kelly), are charged with a great responsibility by the mysterious alien known as the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) to guard against the creatures of nightmare that want nothing more than to find a way through to Earth and take it for their own.

Commenting on his involvement with the new Doctor Who spin-off series, Peter Capaldi, said: “The Doctor Who family is growing, and it’s fantastic to be able to welcome the young new cast of Class in to the Whoniverse.” Check out the young cast here.

In addition, an exclusive world premiere of the first episode will take place at Rich Mix on Thursday 20 October, the home of Coal Hill Academy, Shoreditch, with doors opening at 6pm.

The Stoic is a feature film shooting in Bulgaria from 3rd October 2016 for 6 weeks.

A fast-talking lawyer transforms his body and takes a vow of silence, not to be broken until he finds out who killed his wife and daughter and has his revenge.

Meet the young cast of City of Tiny Lights

City of Tiny Lights is a noir inspired London thriller directed by Pete Travis, based on the novel by Patrick Neate which stars Riz Ahmed (currently to be seen on Netflix starring in the much-acclaimed The Night of), Cush Jumbo, and Billie Piper.

As the film moves through present day multicultural London, it also cuts back to Tommy's youth in 1997, telling the story of his friendship with a lad called Lovely (Antonio Aakeel), his mate Stuart (George Sargeant) and his growing love for Stuart's girlfriend, Shelley (Hannah Rae).

The filmmakers spent almost five months searching for the youngsters, cast by Celestia Fox. Beyond conventional casting methods they trawled youth clubs, theatre's and schools in search for the perfect young ensemble.

Playing the younger Riz Ahmed is newcomer Reiss Kershi-Hussain (represented by Shepherd Management) who had no previous acting experience before being cast as the impressionable young Tommy.

18 Year old Hannah Rae represented by Sainou plays the beautifully enigmatic Shelley (adult version played by Billie Piper.) Hannah will be seen next in Broadchurch as David Tennant's daughter Daisy. She is currently in training at Central School of Speech and Drama.

Antonio Aakeel (represented by Identity Agency Group) from Birmingham, plays 17 year old popular playboy Lovely (adult version portrayed by BIFA winner James Floyd.) Antonio has featured in E4’s Skins and will be seen next in BBC One’s three part drama Three Girls directed by Philippa Lowthorpe.

Gang leader Stuart is played by George Sargeant (represented by DAA Management.) George is best known as TJ in Eastenders, son of Patsy Palmer.

These talented youngsters join Riz Ahmed, Billie Piper, James Floyd, Cush Jumbo, Gandhi star Roshan Seth and newcomer Mohammed Ali Amiri in a fantastic ensemble piece.

City of Tiny Lights will have its European premiere on October 13th at London Picturehouse Central and is due a cinematic release early 2017.

City of Tiny Lights is produced by Ado Yoshizaki Cassuto of NDF International and Rebecca O'Brien from Sixteen Films. BBC Films and BFI developed the script and financed the film in association with Lip Sync productions, Fel UK and Ingenious Media.

Crooked House

12 year old Honor Kneafsey stars in the leading role of Josephine in a new feature film adaptation of Agatha Christie crime novel Crooked House, which has just started filming in London.

Honor (represented by A&J Management) has just filmed on Isabel Coixet's The Bookshop and is known to TV audiences for her roles in Our Zoo and Benidorm.

She will star alongside Max Irons, as private detective Charles Hayward who is invited to solve the gruesome murder of wealthy and ruthless tycoon Aristide Leonides, poisoned in his own bed. Nobody is above suspicion, including Sophia (played by Stefanie Martini, who has just filmed the role of Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect prequel Tennison) Hayward's client and former lover.

The cast also includes Terence Stamp as a chief inspector and Christina Hendricks, Glenn Close, and Gillian Anderson as members of the dead man’s household.

Gilles Paquet-Brenner will direct the ensemble cast from a script written by Downton Abbey and Gosford Park writer Julian Fellowes.

 "We are thrilled to be bringing Agatha Christie’s ‘Crooked House’ – one of her own personal favorites, and one that has never been filmed before – to the big screen," producer Joe Abrams said.

Young British rising star lands lead role in George Clooney film

11 year old Noah Jupe is set to co-star opposite Matt Damon and Julianne Moore in Suburbicon, a black comedy being directed by George Clooney.

He will play the son of a man (Damon) who hatches a plan to kill his wife in order to be with the woman’s sister (Moore), with whom he’s having an affair. Unfortunately, his 8-year-old son catches on and turns the whole plan upside down.

Noah (represented by Shepherd Management) from Cheshire, is the son of Coronation Street star Katy Cavanagh. He was recently seen on BBC’s The Night Manager opposite Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie, and in ITV's Houdini and Doyle.
He already has a number of films completed this year including sci-fi film The Titan., Third Reich thriller HHhH, and That Good Night.
Noah is currently shooting Wonder, Lionsgate’s adaptation of the R.J. Palacio YA novel with Julia Roberts and the young star of Room, Jacob Tremblay.

Based on a script by Ethan and Joel Coen, Suburbicon is due to start shooting in Los Angeles in October.

First look at 'Hat Hair'

American actress Jaylen Barron leads the cast of a 'horse mystery' drama series (working title Hat Hair), being produced by Lime Pictures, which will be available to Netflix members worldwide in the Spring of 2017

Jaylen stars as 15 year old Zoe, an American teenager who's life changes forever during her star at Bright Field Stables when se meets the mysterious horse 'Raven'. Their deep friendship gives her the strength to face certain rites of passage head on whilst exploring new relationships. Zoe’s inspirational journey will show audiences that life is all about falling off – and learning to pick yourself up again.

With a thrilling mystery unravelling around her, the complex relationship Zoe develops with Raven gives her the grit and determination to master her riding skills and ultimately discover a passion for horses and a strength to face the rest of life’s challenges.

The series also stars Game of Thrones star Kerry Ingram (represented by Sainou) as Becky, Manpreet Bambra (represented by CAM), who starred in CBBC's Postcode and The Dumping Ground, newcomer Bruce Herbelin-Earle (represented by RKA Talent) a 19 year old French/British actor based in London, and Celine Buckens who played Emelie in Steven Spielberg's War Horse.

Speaking of the project, Lime's joint Managing Directors Kate Little and Claire Poyser said: ‘We are thrilled to be producing this exciting new original series for Netflix. Lime Pictures thrives on delivering great stories, that are brilliantly told. ‘We are immensely proud to be able to produce a series within a 35 mile radius of our Liverpool base that will be available on a platform reaching over 190 countries: the beauty of the countryside and rolling hills of Cheshire, teamed with the breath-taking beaches of Anglesey is set to tantalize family audiences all over the world.’

The ten part series is currently being filmed in Wales and North West England. It was created and written by Anna McCleery and Vicki Lutas, and is directed by Paul Norton Walker. It was cast by KM Casting.
